Lately, a lot of my computer literacy students have begun using Google Chrome for the first time, since I made it a rule to never open the blue and orange web browser icons. Here are a few shortcuts I often teach them when using Google Chrome.
New tab: CTRL + T
New page: CTRL + N
Close current tab: CTRL + W
Cycle forward through tabs: CTRL + TAB or CTRL + Page Down
Cycle backwards through tabs: CTRL + SHIFT + TAB or CTRL + Page Up
Zoom in: CTRL + =
Zoom out: CTRL + -
Zoom reset: CTRL + 0
Zoom in: CTRL + Mousewheel Up
Zoom out: CTRL + Mousewheel Down
Open link in new tab: Middle Click on Link or CTRL + Click on link or Drag Link to a new tab area
Close Tab: Middle-click on Tab
Move tab to a new position in browser: Click and drag to position required.
Move tab to a new window: Click and drag tab out of the browser window.
Open last closed tab: CTRL + SHIFT+T
Refresh/ Reload Tab : F5 or CTRL+R
If you have some to share about tab usage, let me know in the comments and I will add it into this guide. Thanks for reading and I hope you learnt something new. Don't forget to tell your friends that are new to Google Chrome!
