Top 5 Free 2 Play PC Games

There are tons of free games but a few free 2 play games set new standards when it comes to being massively multiplayer. Leaving World of Warcraft out of the picture, here is a selection of my 5 top free 2 play PC games.

Realm of the Mad God (RotMG)

Publisher: WildShadowStudios
Genre: MMO

An MMO bullet shooter with the least intense graphics amongst modern games and an addictive soundtrack that loops throughout the menu and game, with teams of more than 80 people battling it out as mages and warriors against 8-bit monsters, bosses and the Mad God himself. Here is that addictive theme song with some dub-step.

Team Fortress 2 (TF2)

Site: http://www.teamfortress.com/freetoplay/
Publisher: Valve Corporation
Genre: MMO

Its the best free 2 play fps with in-game transactions to add more items to your classes.

League of Legends (LoL)

Site: http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/
Publisher: Riot Games
Genre: Action RTS

Without much of the grinding element, you can level a champ up to 30 and then max out the runes and masteries of offence and defence. Champions are diverse and the 5 versus 5 real-time action strategy makes the game highly addictive and competitive. Inspired by and designed by some of those who worked on the original DotA, now with millions of 'summoners' playing hours of League of Legends and multitudes of guilds or clans competing for cash and other prizes, this action RTS gives DotA2 something to be concerned about.

Defense of the Ancients 2 (DotA2)

Site: http://blog.dota2.com/
Publisher: Valve Corporation
Genre: Action RTS

Whilst League of Legends remains a firm competitor to Dota, Dota2 beta is in high demand and if you were lucky enough to get a beta key, you are one of those who will shape the game for official release.

Counter-Strike: Global Offense (CS:GO)

Publisher: Valve Corporation
Genre: FPS

Without announcing the official release date, Valve has thrown 1000's of CS:GO beta invites to Steam users in the form of a Valve survey. Get your invite now!

It is conclusive that with not just a handful of top PC game, Valve corporation is owning the PC gaming scene by also providing the largest game distribution platform for PC gamers, Steam.
